The imprinted concrete process

Preparation: We clean the paving area and remove pre-existing material then excavate the ground to a depth of at least 200mm. We add a 100mm layer of crushed rock or brick rubble MOT type 1.

Concrete laying: We pour concrete into the area, then spread and level it, allowing up to 100-150mm of thickness. We trowel the edges to make the surface smooth, using a hand trowel for a smooth finish.

Colouring and printing: We apply surface hardener mixed with colour dyes to get the proper colour, blending multiple colours for a customised effect if required. We apply a release agent before imprinting, then start imprinting with texture mats. After imprinting, we use a clear releasing oil.

Expansion joints: After 24-96 hours, we cut expansion joints. We also create control joints during surface laying.

Surface sealing: We apply two coats of solvent-based acrylic sealant.

"Such a lovely bunch of hardworking lads. Absolutely love my new imprinted concrete. They were really helpful with choosing the design and colour too. We had a slight issue with my old, half wall half fence being unstable, and they just rallied around and provided me with a good price for a new fence and it was up before I knew it. Fantastic job from start to finish and it was all complete within a week. Definitely recommend these guys. Special thanks to Michael and Craig for being so helpful, especially since I’m so indecisive."
